While there are different aspects of the TM clinical examination, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the temporomandibular joint continues to provide vital information for the diagnosis of the joint. With advanced joint disease occurring at younger ages with increased frequency, the use of MR imaging will increase in the future. In order to obtain diagnostic images, an accurate prescription with detailed information will assist the radiology team in providing an accurate representation of the TM joint. Reading and interpreting the MRIs are easier with today’s digital format along with advanced training. Comments or questions can be posted on this thread for further discussion and learning.
